The ChannelPro Network’s Cybersecurity Online Summit: Smart Security, a live, single-day event held on December 7, brought together cybersecurity experts and security service providers to discuss the latest additions to the threat landscape and the biggest new security markets that managed service providers, VARs, and consultants who serve small and medium-size businesses need to know about.
The Smart Security virtual event was the last of this year’s three online summits featuring leading channel professionals addressing top-of-mind issues and trends in both cybersecurity and business management. All online events also offered a virtual expo hall and the ability to interact live with sponsors.
“The Smart Security Online Summit delivered actionable advice for how MSPs can better protect their SMB customers, and themselves, against cyberthreats,” says Michael Siggins, president and publisher of The ChannelPro Network. “Like all our events this year, both in-person and online, the Smart Security summit delivered compelling content in lively, interactive formats that are unique in our industry.”
The December 7 summit featured the following sessions:
Putting Threat Intelligence to Work – Security experts Dave Alton, Patrick Burgess, and Wayne Selk discussed why real-time threat intelligence is a must-have for protecting clients and how to act on threat intelligence without drowning in information.
Smart Gadgets, Smart Security – IoT afficionados Luis Alvarez, Rebecca Herold, and Michael Oh (pictured lef) walked the audience through the various ways smart devices on a customer’s network can be exploited, and how to mitigate those risks.
Stump the Security Pro...Again! – Cybersecurity pro Ian Thornton-Trump returned to the ChannelPro stage to answer security questions live.
Pen Testers Tell All – Experienced penetration testers Dana Epp, Leia Shilobod, and Heath Adams told tales of the ugliest things they’ve seen in end-user environments, and what channel pros can learn from those mistakes about protecting their customers.
Winning with Cyber Insurance – Industry thought leaders Dawn Sizer (pictured at top) and Maria Scarmado offered tips for turning cyber insurance from a source of pain into a source of customer loyalty.
Attendees also voted to recognize sponsors with the following awards:
- Best in Show: Huntress
- Best Partner Community: Dell Expert Network
- Best Revenue Booster: Kaseya IT Complete
- Most Innovative Solution: ThreatLocker
“The Smart Security Summit brought together the best in the cybersecurity industry to help steer the MSP community through the latest challenges and opportunities,” says Rich Freeman, executive editor of The ChannelPro Network. “Based on the active chat participants in our audience, it was clear the material resonated.”
Many thanks to Titanium sponsor Kaseya; Diamond sponsor WatchGuard; Platinum sponsors Barracuda MSP and ESET; Premier Gold sponsor Huntress; and Gold sponsors Acronis, Augmentt, Dell Technologies/Dell Expert Network, Egnyte, Fortinet, Quickpass, and SafeDNS.
