D&H Distributing is now offering the Intel Retail Client Manager (RCM) software, a digital signage solution that allows retailers and businesses to manage multiple digital signage displays from a single interface. To help educate resellers on how to sell and utilize this solution, the distributor is offering a free webcast from its Solutions Lab entitled “Simplifying Digital Signage with Intel’s Retail Client Manager” on October 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. ET. D&H customers can register at dandh.com.†
During the webcast, solutions specialists Chris Phillips and Matt Allison will demonstrate the Intel RCM software’s functionality, including the Audience Analytics tool, a cloud-based data collection application that recognizes basic customer characteristics and allows users to customize content on their displays based on the type of viewers that are in front of a particular screen. For instance, when a man is detected in front of a store display, an ad targeting menswear will appear on that display. Data is provided both in an aggregated fashion reflecting an entire organization, and on a screen-by-screen basis.†
D&H foresees a huge opportunity for VARs selling this solution into the retail sector, as well as potential in healthcare, SMB, and restaurant/hospitality. The RCM software boasts a streamlined interface and robust tools to create an effective, customizable, and easily managed digital signage system for point-of-sale, kiosk, and vending displays. End users can utilize the intuitive GUI to control multiple screens via any PC-based internet connection.
“Digital signage has been a viable product application for some time. However, the market has been waiting on a practical and easy-to-use platform that empowers companies to manage these displays and turn them into truly persuasive business tools. RCM’s analytic component lets users customize content to engage specific viewers and generate sales, which is a breakthrough capability,” says Jeff Davis, senior vice president of sales for D&H Distributing. “Its potential is extensive, since digital signage is already a pervasive presence in both public- and business-based establishments. It could result in a watershed of opportunity.”
