Storage innovator Exablox has introduced to the channel a scale-out, object-based appliance called OneBlox.
The appliance, combined with the company’s OneSystem is accessible with Server Message Block and common Internet file system protocols. It offers SMBs a cloud-managed solution with such features as inline deduplication, continuous data protection, and zero-configuration storage expansion.†
Exablox aims to provide SMBs with solutions to such common storage challenges as complicated installations, cumbersome storage management, lack of data security, and forklift upgrades.
Scalable Data Storage
OneBlox is designed to be integrated within minutes. According to Exablox, additional OneBlox appliances can be added automatically, enabling resource constrained organizations to scale file system capacity without downtime. “Organizations can forego forklift upgrades and multiple disk-based targets as their business grows with OneBlox’s dynamic scalability,” the company states in a press release submitted to ChannelPro-SMB.
“We’re tearing down the technology barriers that have forced customers into choosing between the features they need and the solutions they can afford,” adds Exablox CEO Douglas Brockett. “At Exablox, we think every customer should feel their data storage is safe and scalable.”
CDP Technology
The Exablox CDP technology enables SMBs to recover vital business information, including the very last file changes, directly from Windows, Mac, or Linux, minimizing disruption and loss of productivity. Additionally, all snapshots enjoy the same deduplication benefit as primary storage; once again maximizing OneBlox storage utilization.
OneBlox offers real-time replication protects against local and remote failures with a global file system replicated across multiple locations.†By default, all information written to OneBlox is automatically encrypted. As drives fail or are upgraded or removed, organizations information remains secure and protected with AES-256.†
Availability
OneBlox is currently available to select businesses with pricing beginning at under $10,000 for a 32 TB solution and under $40,000 for a replicated four-node 64 TB disaster recovery solution. OneBlox will be generally available in the 1H 2013 and sold exclusively through authorized Exablox partners.
