Zomentum Acquires License Management and Billing Reconciliation Vendor Goolash

Goolash’s solution will save Zomentum users time and protect them from revenue leakage, the company says, by automating otherwise painful, manual processes.

Zomentum, a maker of sales management and automation software for MSPs, has acquired automated license management and billing reconciliation vendor Goolash.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Belgium, Goolash’s solution is designed to guard against revenue leakage by automatically reconciling an MSP’s software licenses with their customer accounts to ensure accurate billing.

“Technology partners are managing thousands of recurring licenses usually with manual processes, which is an administrative nightmare. They’re well aware that they’re leaking revenue when client licenses fall through the cracks. What they don’t know is there’s a simple and effective solution,” said Zomentum CEO Shruti Ghatge in a press statement. “Adding Goolash’s license management and billing reconciliation to the Zomentum Revenue Platform solves this critical pain point and exemplifies our continued commitment to supporting the entire revenue lifecycle for our partners.”

Goolash CEO and founder Jef Bogaerts and the rest of the Goolash team will remain with Zomentum going forward.

Goolash’s product collects billing data from Microsoft and Google cloud services, as well as any other solution that exports billing data in CSV or Excel files, and uploads it to Datto’s Autotask PSA. Users can subscribe to weekly or daily summaries of licenses added or removed, and receive alerts about products not being billed or not connected to a contract.

A free version of the product collects data from up to three accounts and provides one integration. The top-of-the-line Growth edition covers up to 100 accounts and supports four integrations for $249 a month. Buyers can add accounts and integrations to any of Goolash’s four pricing tiers, except the free one, for an extra fee.

According to the Goolash website, its software currently syncs more than 5,296,000 licenses.

“We created Goolash to solve the SaaS licensing-billing gap for our own MSP and have been helping other solutions providers plug this drain on their revenue streams since 2017,” said Bogaerts in supplied remarks. “Goolash is a robust and deep solution that’s been tried and tested by the partner community. It’s a perfect complement to Zomentum’s Revenue Platform. Together, we help partners earn, grow and manage their revenue.”

Billing reconciliation is a major headache for most MSPs, especially with consumption-based platforms like Microsoft Azure. Products like Goolash’s are designed to streamline what is typically a time-consuming, manual process and improve the accuracy of a user’s invoices.

ConnectWise introduced a billing reconciliation product of its own last summer. Liongard is a popular reconciliation vendor as well.

Extending the functionality of its platform has been a priority for Zomentum in recent months. Since September alone, the company has added a security assessment tool from the Center for Internet Security to its built-in tool library and announced integrations with payments vendor Connect Booster and the Tech Tribe MSP community.
