Data protection innovator Tandberg Data rolled out a new line of intelligent network-attached disk appliances this week. The AccuVault Series is designed to provide SMBs with single, pre-architecture appliances requiring minimal time and expertise in deploying and managing.
The company calls the new line of appliances “the ideal turnkey data protection solution for businesses and remote offices with limited IT resources.”
The AccuVault Data Protection Appliance comes in three models: a desktop with an integrated RDX QuikStor and two rackmount models.†All models are built on the Windows operating system.
- AccuVault RDX 1TB–This is a compact, desktop data protection solution that protects up to five servers and/or workstations. It sports a touchscreen LCD display and built-in RDX dock.† The AccuVault RDX system includes 1 TB of fixed disk and a 1 TB RDX removable disk cartridge to facilitate online and offsite storage, disaster recovery, and archiving.††
- AccuVault 1U 4TB & AccuVault 1U 8TB–The AccuVault 1U rackmount models contain either 4 TB of fixed disk or 8 TB of fixed disk. The AccuVault 1U 4 TB is designed to protect five to 20 servers and/or workstations, and the AccuVault 1U 8TB is designed to protect 20 to 40 servers and/or workstations.†Both models integrate high-availability features, including RAID-5, hot-swap drives, redundant power, dual GbE, and the ability to connect to a 1U RDX bay configuration.†
Each appliance in the line comes pre-configured with Tandberg’s new AccuGuard Enterprise data protection software, which features source-based deduplication aimed at reducing redundancy inside and across files prior to transmission over the LAN. AccuGuard Enterprise software also globally deduplicates across all clients for maximum bandwidth and storage efficiencies.
The AccuGuard Enterprise data protection software is ideal for environments that run Exchange and SQL as well as those with virtual machine applications like VMware and Hyper-V.†In addition, AccuGuard Enterprise software facilitates management of RDX removable disk-based cartridges for offsite backup, disaster recovery, and archive.
The AccuVault Data Protection Appliance is available via Tandberg Data’s channel of distributor and reseller partners.†The MSRP of the AccuVault RDX 1 TB starts at $2,999.†The MSRP of the AccuVault 1U 4 TB starts at $8,499, and the MSRP of the AccuVault 1U 8 TB starts at $15,999.†
All models come with one-year onsite service (where available) and software maintenance. Service and software uplifts and additional AccuGuard Enterprise licenses are also available.
