Netskope Partners with Facebook on Safe Collaboration in Workplace

New solution offers security teams insights and control for enterprise collaboration platform

LOS ALTOS, Calif., April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Netskope, the leader in cloud security, today announced the release of Netskope for Workplace, providing full visibility and control for Facebook’s collaboration platform that helps organizations get more done. Netskope for Workplace is the most comprehensive solution available in a cloud access security broker (CASB) platform, providing security teams deep insight into and control over files and data shared in Workplace, safeguarding valuable intellectual property, ensuring regulatory compliance, and protecting against threats such as malware and ransomware.

As enterprises adopt cloud-based tools like Workplace to make work simpler and more efficient, it is crucial for security teams to proactively detect and remediate threats on any device whether the user is on premises or remote. Netskope for Workplace provides a centralized control point for security teams to monitor and control activity while maintaining Workplace’s secure, mobile-first collaboration features.

“Workplace is transforming how businesses and teams work together and it’s mobile-first design fits well with the continuously evolving way that people work; but new ways of working beget new opportunities for data and sensitive information to get in the wrong hands,” said Sanjay Beri, founder and CEO, Netskope. “Netskope for Workplace gives enterprise IT the peace of mind to understand what kinds of information are being shared within Workplace and the ability to limit certain unwanted activities. We’re delighted to partner with Facebook to help bolster this secure and widely used collaboration platform.”

Key features include:

  • Granular control of Workplace users, activities, and data: Netskope for Workplace allows IT to create granular, contextual policies based on app, user, activity, and more. Custom policies can restrict certain activities like sharing personally identifiable information (PII) in Workplace, and custom messages help coach employees when restricting certain activities.
  • Advanced, enterprise cloud DLP: Industry-leading cloud data loss prevention (DLP) detects data violations in Workplace. Existing or custom-built DLP profiles uncover and protect PII, payment card industry information (PCI), protected health information (PHI), source code and more.
  • Cloud threat and malware protection: Using the anti-malware capabilities in Netskope Threat Protection, teams can detect and remediate cloud malware and ransomware in real time or on files already resident within the Workplace instance. The Netskope machine learning- and rules-based anomaly detection engine can alert IT to suspicious logins, excessive activity, data exfiltration and compromised credentials to help resolve situations faster.

Netskope for Workplace using the Netskope unified proxy is generally available. For more information, visit our website.
