Kaseya to Launch PSA Migration Tool

The new system, which is designed to help MSPs switch from competing products to Kaseya’s Business Management Solution, is one of several product roadmap milestones announced at the vendor’s European partner event.

Kaseya Ltd. plans to introduce a new tool that MSPs can use to migrate onto its PSA platform.

The Waltham, Mass.-based managed services software vendor made the announcement at the Kaseya Connect Europe partner event it’s currently hosting in Barcelona, Spain. As ChannelPro reported earlier, Kaseya also announced updated versions of its Traverse hybrid cloud and data center monitoring solution and AuthAnvil on-demand identity and access management system at that conference.

The new migration tool, to be named Kaseya PSA Migrator, is designed to help users of competing platforms from Tampa, Fla.-based ConnectWise, East Greenbush, N.Y.-based Autotask Corp., and other vendors switch to Kaseya Business Management Solution (BMS), the professional services automation system introduced in February.

“With Kaseya PSA Migrator, the myth of the challenges and obstacles related to migrating from one PSA solution to the next are obliterated,” said Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola in emailed responses to questions from ChannelPro. “Kaseya PSA Migrator provides all the technology and assistance needed for a user to easily and seamlessly migrate, and on average in less than a week.”

According to Voccola, Kaseya BMS costs 50 to 75 percent less than comparable solutions from other vendors.

“[That] in turn helps our MSP partners to be more strategic and invest their capital into revenue generating solutions,” he says.

Kaseya shared other product roadmap milestones for 2017 at this week’s conference as well, including a reengineered patching methodology that supports Windows, Mac, and Linux devices; an enhanced edition of its Live Connect remote control solution; and a refinement of its single pane-of-glass interface that provides different views of critical information to users based on their needs and role.

ConnectWise told ChannelPro at its annual IT Nation event last week that it too is working to maximize technician productivity by adding role-based interfaces to its solutions.

The latest Traverse release, which is scheduled to ship later this month, reaches market some six months after version 9.3, which featured an enhanced mobile interface and support for more than 40 additional firewalls, routers, switches, storage-area networks, wireless controllers, and servers. Voccola calls the search capabilities introduced in Traverse 9.4 a “game changer” for busy Kaseya partners, who can now swiftly deploy and test system-wide changes to devices and monitoring thresholds with one click.

“This leads to both significant time savings and cost savings,” he says. Similarly, he continues, the updated version of AuthAnvil on-demand announced this week represents a significant advance over IAM solutions that base authentication policies solely on user name and password.

“Not only do we add multiple factors of authentication, but we also allow organizations to take a risk-based approach to access based on fine grain settings,” Voccola states. Those include where users are located, which application they’re trying to access, and when they’re making that attempt.

Kaseya Connect Europe, which concludes tomorrow, kicked off on the same day that SolarWinds MSP wrapped up its MAX 2016 partner event. The Kaseya rival announced product roadmap updates of its own at that show for its recently re-branded LOGICnow and SolarWinds N-able product lines.
