CloudBerry Lab, a vendor of backup and management solutions for public cloud storage services, has announced that it now supports AWS Key Management Service in addition to its existing client and server side encryption (SSE) security capabilities. The AWS Key Management Service (KMS) will be supported for both CloudBerry Backup, which backs up data to Amazon S3, and CloudBerry Explorer, which enables end-users to access, move, and manage files across local storage and Amazon S3 buckets. †
AWS Key Management Service (KMS) is a managed service that presents a single view into all of key usage in the end-user organization and is designed for end-users to easily create, rotate, and control the encryption keys used to encrypt data. †
“Customers are rightly concerned about the security of the data they store in the cloud,” says Aleksy Serkov, CTO at CloudBerry Lab. “CloudBerry has always provided users with complete control over the keys that are the bedrock of data security – neither CloudBerry nor the cloud provider ever has access to customer data. Now, organizations have a backup and file management solution that fully supports AWS KMS, allowing them to leverage the latest security enhancements from Amazon to easily and quickly create, control, and centrally manage encryption keys used to keep their data safe on S3.”
