MSPAlliance (MSPA), a professional association and accrediting body for the managed services industry, has introduced the Unified Certification Standard (UCS), a new certification standard specific to cloud and managed service providers (MSPs). UCS offers public facing report issued by an independent third party and certified public accounting firm that can be used to provide assurance to existing and prospective clients.
The UCS will provide two levels of certification for both company types. Level One will provide a report that has a fixed certification date; Level Two will provide a report that is forward looking in nature.
This standard, the first of its kind, will be a cost-effective way for companies to receive an audited report that will support their business growth by providing assurance to customers. Cloud technology is becoming more commonplace, even becoming well-known to consumers, and a certification related to cloud providers and MSPs will help providers legitimize their businesses.
