triCerat Releases Latest Scanect Version

Scanect v1.2 improves the user experience and adds support for remote scanning environments with enhanced controls and configurability.

Print software developer triCerat Inc. has released the latest iteration of its Scanect remote scanning software.

Designed for SMBs that rely on scanning as part of everyday operations – especially the healthcare, legal, and finance verticals – Scanect speeds scanning without sacrificing bandwidth or image quality.

Scanect works by querying local scanners for such capabilities as resolution and supported paper sizes. It then forwards the scanned product to be virtualized on the server or virtual desktop.

The newly released Scanect v1.2 software adds additional support for remote scanning environments with enhanced controls and configurability for IT system administrators as well as an improved user experience.

Highlights include:

  • Server Administrator Control – Certain properties of the scanner can be restricted, including the ability to raise or lower the DPI options and manage color and scan type in order to control bandwidth usage.
  • Scanner Profiles – System administrators are able to create profiles with certain specifications (such as DPI levels and color) to provide users with a greater selection of scanner options.
  • Multiple Client-Side Scanner Support – The number of scanners that can be supported is increased.

“Scanect v1.2 alleviates user frustration caused by painfully slow or completely failed scanner jobs,” says Andrew Parlette, triCerat’s vice president of product development. “It also saves system administrators time by eliminating the need to manage scanner drivers and provides an enhanced console for improved control.”
