Thecus Updates SMB Rackmount Line of Storage Products

The N4510U PRO 4-bay rackmount gets a new look and an internal upgrade.

Thecus is ready to keep pace with its latest revision to the SMB 4-bay rackmount line: the N4510U PRO. The rackmount boasts a 15 percent rise in processing speed with an Intel Atom D2701 processor and a stylish new front panel.

“Data usage has been increasing exponentially for years,” explains Florence Shih, general manager of Thecus. “And with this growth comes not only the need for greater storage, but also the need for more powerful processing power from storage devices. So when businesses decide to invest in IT infrastructure, they look not only at capacity, but also at a device’s ability to serve users and offer features to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the workplace. With our update of the N4510U, we’re offering business professionals our already comprehensive feature set and module database, as well as a timely upgrade to underlying hardware.”

N4510U Pro’s software includes Data Burn, which allows users to burn copies of their data onto discs, and Data Guard, which allows synchronization of data across the network to other NAS and servers. Thecus’s Rsync functionality gives users flexibility with remote backup capability, a flexible scheduler, and the stability of Linux-based transfer. It also features a free copy of Acronis True image for advanced backup. Additionally, HDMI output allows users to connect their NAS directly to a TV for device management.

When it comes to data management, N4510U Pro allows users to create multiple RAID volumes each supporting different RAID modes including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD. Support for multiple file systems include EXT3, EXT4, and XFS. Users can simultaneously use different file systems across multiple RAID volumes to get the best of each one.
