Backup solutions provider STORServer has introduced a new agent for backing up for Web-based workplaces. STORServer Agent for Tivoli Storage Manager and Microsoft SharePoint 6.1 enables fast backup and recovery of Microsoft SharePoint Portal 2003 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.
According to STORServer, the new Agent provides the ability to restore portals, top level sites, subsites, as well as individual document libraries, attachments, lists, folders, areas, and sub areas. “Users can also schedule full, incremental, or differential backup at the site-level, subsite-level, and item-level, preserving all meta-data versions,” the company states.†
The STORServer Agent is a policy-based backup and recovery solution. The new features of this STORServer product, version 6.1, include enhanced business intelligence
matrix, improved restoration timeline and backup templates, coalescing incremental backups, a more user-friendly discovery, and an upgraded dashboard and interface.
“As the amount of data continues to grow and more information is being saved and shared online, the need is greater than ever to have a secure backup solution,” says John Pearring, vice president of customer service for STORServer Inc. “The new Agent for SharePoint offers a fast, flexible and intelligent backup solution.”
Pricing for the STORServer Agent for TSM Microsoft SharePoint 6.1 starts at $1,500 per server.
