ObserveIT, the insider threat management platform with more than 1,900 customers around the world, announced the launch of its newest solution,†ObserveIT 7.8. The latest release reinforces ObserveIT’s insider threat management leadership, providing organizations with greater visibility and detection of data exfiltration via email, context around sent and received attachments and Activity Replay to capture user activity pre and post a policy violation.
According to†Verizon’s recent Insider Threat Report, 57% of database breaches involved insider threats within an organization, largely stemming from either malicious or inadvertent email activity. As insider threats become increasingly more common, organizations need to arm employees, contractors and other third parties with the right tools and training to ensure sensitive information remains secure.
ObserveIT’s latest update, ObserveIT 7.8, enables security teams to proactively detect and quickly investigate potential insider threats attempting to exfiltrate data through desktop email in addition to existing capabilities for web applications, webmail, cloud storage, removable media, keyboard shortcuts, and command-line. Today, security teams are forced to correlate file activity across multiple products or, worse, acquire email logs from their IT teams. Both approaches require time-consuming, manual analysis and lack user context. ObserveIT provides one platform to detect risky emails, both sent and received, view their full context, including attachments, and investigate the user and file before and after the email activity.
