As a means of helping SMBs transition from outdated IT environments, Dell Services has launched its ZeroIMPACT migration services for SAP solutions.
According to a Dell press release submitted to Channelpro-SMB, Dell developed its ZeroIMPACT migrations for SAP solutions to “deliver legacy migration with little to no downtime” using its parallel transformation methodology.
“As hardware and delivery capabilities age, legacy systems can’t always keep up with the continual advances in software technology,” says Ramki Ramamurthy, Dell’s vice president of enterprise applications. “Dell has developed a low-impact solution that will help transform legacy environments with little to no impact to operations.”
How It Works
Through the ZeroIMPACT services, Dell consultants work with SAP customers to evaluate legacy and new environments prior to developing a transformation plan. Then, during the migration process, the legacy environment continues running while migration activities take place. Dell’s software captures and queues all transactions occurring during the migration and then syncs them to the migrated system.
ZeroIMPACT was developed with resources from Dell’s hardware, services, and software groups, including Quest’s SharePlex and Foglight enterprise software solutions. †
Dells as SAP Channel Partner
Along with the rollout of the ZeroIMPACT services, Dell was also made a SAP channel partner in the SAP PartnerEdge program. Dell is now authorized to resell the following solutions:
- SAP HANA Platform
- SAP Sybase
- SAP BusinessObjects
- SAP ERP
Dell now provides a portfolio of SAP solutions, including licensing, implementation and customization services, training and documentation, optimization, and support.
