The telecommunications systems division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. has announced Call Manager Mobile for Apple iPhone running iOS R5 or R6, enabling users to access Toshiba’s VIPedge cloud-based business telephone solution. This is the second platform release of Call Manager Mobile, which was initially released for Android in February 2013.
Call Manager Mobile enables SMB users to take office calls and instant messages on mobile phones. It is based on HTML5, offering rapid deployment to multiple OS platforms while retaining the same look-and-feel and functionality.

Call Manager Mobile provides telephone and XMPP-based enhanced presence state information. Each VIPedge customer will get a XMPP server instance for an additional level of flexibility and security. Coming soon, Call Manager Mobile will federate with Microsoft Lync and Google Talk among others.
Call Manager Mobile handles single and group instant messaging sessions. Multiple simultaneous sessions are supported, enabling users to better communicate with others. Users also have the ability to send broadcast messages.
Call Manager Mobile integrates Toshiba’s IPMobility solution, providing single-number reach for both incoming and outgoing calls so that users only need to provide their office telephone numbers to make and receive calls on multiple endpoint devices. With IPMobility integration, users are also able to access advanced system calling features, including direct-extension dialing, call transfer, call record, and more.
Call Manager Mobile for Android and Apple iPhone iOS are now available from Authorized Toshiba Dealers nationwide. New Call Manager releases for Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X, and other platforms will be announced soon.
