Avast and KYOCERA Will Deliver Security and Managed IT Services to Canadian SMBs

Powered by the AVG Business by Avast solution portfolio and delivered exclusively by KYOCERA at first, the new services will ultimately be available as a managed security offering via KYOCERA’s network of Canadian dealers as well.

Avast Software has forged a three-year agreement with KYOCERA Document Solutions Canada Ltd. to provide security and managed IT services to Canadian businesses.

Powered by solutions from the Prague-based vendor’s AVG Business by Avast solution portfolio, the new offerings include extensive protections for end points against ransomware, phishing attacks, and other online hazards.

Those services will initially be delivered to customers exclusively by KYOCERA itself, but the Mississauga, Ont.-based maker of imaging and document management products plans to offer managed security solutions via its network of Canadian dealers as well at an unspecified point in the future. Those solutions will combine Avast’s security software with the AVG Business group’s RMM and cloud management platforms. Avast sales engineers will deliver training and guidance on go-to-market strategies and provide access to marketing resources as well.

“With the rapid growth of cyber threats such as ransomware, security has become a top priority for our customers,” said Michel Naud, director of direct operations at KYOCERA Document Solutions Canada, in prepared remarks. “By partnering with Avast, not only can we provide immediate and effective security protection, we now have the technology, services and resources to build and scale the IT services side of our business.”

In conjunction with the alliance announced today, KYOCERA Document Solutions Canada has become a certified elite-level member of Avast’s partner program.

“We welcome KYOCERA Document Solutions Canada as a partner and look forward to helping them deliver tailored security and managed IT services for customers with any type of security need,” said Kevin Chapman, senior vice president and general manager of Avast’s SMB business, in today’s press release. “Our unique AVG Business by Avast solutions provide advanced security protection for end customers which simplify the delivery and automate the management of security services for our channel partners. Coupled with our comprehensive channel partner program, we’re ensuring our partners can go to market effectively and build a scalable program that fosters high recurring revenue and great margins.”

Avast purchased security and managed services software vendor AVG Technologies for $1.3 billion last July, and put Chapman in charge of global SMB operations last November.
