Arrow Electronics Collaborates with V5 Systems and Dell to Bring Wireless, Solar-Powered Computing Solutions to the Outdoor Industrial IoT Market

Arrow Electronics, Inc. is now offering†V5 Systems‘ intelligent, self-powered security and computing solutions to its customers. Developed with the support of†Dell OEM Solutions, V5 Systems’ security and computing solutions are solar-powered, wireless and portable, designed specifically for outdoor industrial internet of things (IoT) and smart-city applications.

Arrow Electronics, Inc. is now offering†V5 Systems‘ intelligent, self-powered security and computing solutions to its customers. Developed with the support of†Dell OEM Solutions, V5 Systems’ security and computing solutions are solar-powered, wireless and portable, designed specifically for outdoor industrial internet of things (IoT) and smart-city applications.

“Arrow looks forward to collaborating with V5 Systems and Dell, and to bringing their innovative platform to the complex IoT deployments that we help guide our customers through,” said Aiden Mitchell, global vice president of IoT sales at Arrow. “By removing key barriers to electrical power and internet connectivity, V5 Systems is enabling a host of exciting and cost-effective new IoT applications aimed at keeping us safer and more secure.”

The modular and wireless design of V5 Systems platform makes it easy to install and redeploy, so customers can move it for short-term needs. The platform’s artificial-intelligence-driven code runs analytics on the edge to provide real-time alerts, and can also transmit data to the cloud for enhanced analysis or storage. Its open, yet controlled, architecture enables software and hardware integration from Dell and other validated third-parties.

The V5 Systems products that Arrow is now carrying include:

  • V5 Portable Power Unit [PPU] to power third-party products outdoors
  • V5 Portable Security Unit [PSU], a self-powered unit with video surveillance, acoustic tracking detection, and chemical detection
  • V5 Portable Camera Adaptive Platform [V5 CAP], an open, self-powered platform to integrate third-party video cameras and wireless communications
  • V5 Portable Edge Computing [PECU], self-powered computing for outdoor deployments, enabling integration of third-party application software, hardware, and sensors
