Acer America has announced that its TravelMate P645-S Series commercial ultrabooks have been upgraded with Intel 5th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 “Broadwell” processors for better performance to support commercial customers. With the new Intel processors, the Acer TravelMate P645-S provides more power than the prior generation, delivering up to 8 hours of battery life, better visuals with up to 24 percent better graphics performance, and up to 50 percent faster video conversion.†
There are two Acer TravelMate P645-S models available. The premium configuration includes a 14-inch Full HD display leveraging IPS technology and NVIDIA GeForce 840M graphics with 2GB DDR3 VRAM. The mainstream version includes a HD 1366×768 resolution display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500. Both models come with 8GB of DDR3 memory upgradable to 12GB with a solid state drive (SSD) offering up to 256GB in capacity. The LED-backlit displays are outfitted with ComfyView anti-glare technology and offer crisp, clear images indoors and out. The systems can support two additional displays, allowing professionals to view up to three displays simultaneously.†
The†TravelMate P645-S ultrabooks feature two USB 3.0, DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, and VGA, while Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0 enable both wired and wireless connectivity. Optimized for conference calls, the notebooks include a high-def 720p webcam, dual microphones, a mute key, high-definition audio, and Acer Purified.Voice, designed to enhance voice sound and reduce background noise and keystrokes.
As for security, the Acer TravelMate P645-S Series comes with Acer ProShield Manager, a suite of both security and management tools to safeguard valuable data and prevent unauthorized access. Leveraging pre-boot authentication, Acer ProShield Manager protects the ultrabook from the BIOS to the application level. Users can create a Personal Secure Drive (PSD) to store and encrypt all critical files, ensuring that if the Acer TravelMate P645 is lost or stolen, the data cannot be accessed. It also offers an automated solution to manage IT assets remotely.
An integrated biometric fingerprint reader paired with a Trusted Platform Module 1.2 reader secures the system from unauthorized access. In addition, Acer Office Manager (AOM), a manageability solution, allows users to deploy security policies, monitor IT assets, and schedule maintenance tasks, while Intel vPro with Active Management Technology enables them to manage software and hardware computing assets.
The Acer TravelMate P645 ultrabooks are available now in the United States from authorized Acer resellers. Prices begin at $949.99.
