VARs Can Capitalize on SSDs for SMBs, Says Intel

SPONSORED ARTICLE: Intel tells channel pros that its X25-M SSDs enable increased performance at an affordable price.

Intel Corp.’s message to VARs this month: “Intel solid-state drives can help you increase customer productivity while generating new revenues between hardware refresh cycles.”

There is no doubt that SMBs these days are looking to increase productivity while also looking to spend less. According to Intel, Intel X25-M SSDs “enable SMBs to do both.”

In a company statement, Intel says its X25-M SSDs are “up to nine times faster than conventional disk drives.” In a pithy slogan, Intel adds, “That means less waiting and more doing.”

In addition, Intel SSDs provide a high-performing boot drive for quicker startups and shorter application load times. These may be alluring to SMBs looking to do more with fewer people.

Moreover, Intel X25-E SSDs offer a ten-times improvement in random write I/O operations per second performance over a 15K HDD.

Intel adds that its SSDs have no moving parts. “So, they break less often and last longer than disk drives,” the company states.

Intel SSDs are also designed to handle 1500 G bumps and shocks and provide 150/75mW active/idle power.

“The average SMB replaces their hardware every four years,” Intel says. “That’s a long time to wait between sales. In addition to the margin you’ll make on the hardware itself, Intel SSDs can earn you rich new revenues on installation and data migration services.”
