Four New TYAN Server Platforms Enter the Channel

The AMD FireStream GPU compute accelerators are designed for use in HPC and cloud applications.

Server platform manufacturer TYAN introduced four new server platforms last week. Each is compatible with AMD FireStream GPU compute accelerators.

The AMD FireStream GPU compute accelerators are general purpose graphics processing units that deliver floating point processing capabilities. They are designed for use in HPC and cloud applications in order to reduce cycle times with up to 2.64 TFLOPs of single precision performance.

The four TYAN platforms are:

  • B7015†–Eight-GPU 4U platform
  • S7025–Four-GPU 4U platform
  • S8225–Four-GPU 4U platform supports dual AMD Opteron 4100 series processors
  • S8236–Up to 2-GPU rack optimized 2U platform supports dual AMD Opteron 6100 series processors

Each was designed for GPU computing and support solutions that range from one AMD FireStream compute accelerator in a 1U server up to eight compute accelerators in a 4U platform. These platforms feature double-wide PCIe 2.0 x16 slots, and they support AMD FireStream 9170, 9250, 9270, 9350, and 9370 GPU compute accelerators.

Kevin Hart, TYAN’s director of product marketing, says the GPGPU platforms are “armed with AMD FireStream GPU compute accelerators to deliver shocking floating point performance that is exponentially faster than x86 CPUs in some applications.” †

All of these AMD FireStream-compatible server platforms are available now through TYAN’s authorized distributors. OEM pricing is available upon request.
