As MSPs look to rein in sprawling security stacks, cybersecurity vendors are racing to offer more integrated platforms. CyberFOX joined those vendors, acquiring Timus Networks to add secure access service edge (SASE) and zero trust network access (ZTNA) capabilities to its portfolio.
After CyberFOX landed growth funding earlier this year, CEO David Bellini told ChannelPro sister publication ChannelE2E that security sprawl was the core problem MSPs face. “They need security products that are simple, easy to deploy, and easy to manage.”
CyberFOX brought Timus Networks into the fold, in part, to give its partners secure access, secure web gateway, always-on VPN, device checks and policy controls.

CyberFOX moves toward a broader MSP security platform
MSPs today often must secure more users, devices, applications and data without adding staff or management overhead. SMBs face growing cybersecurity requirements. As a result, partner conversations now largely include secure access, identity protection, web security and VPN replacement technologies.
The Timus deal gives CyberFOX a bigger role in the MSP security stack. The company already offers AutoElevate for privileged access management, CyberFOX Password Manager and CyberFOX DNS Filtering. Timus adds SASE and ZTNA, putting secure connectivity and application access into the same portfolio.
The company is trying to move beyond a set of separate tools. It’s goals is a more connected platform for MSPs, CyberFOX Chief Technology Officer Andy Bensinger told ChannelE2E.
“Rather than being viewed as a collection of individual security tools, CyberFOX is evolving into a platform that helps MSPs secure identities, privileged access, web activity, endpoints, and now user connectivity and application access. The goal is not to replace what partners are already doing well. It is to give them a more integrated way to address modern security requirements through a vendor they already trust.”
How CyberFOX plans to package SASE for partners
CyberFOX is keeping the Timus packaging flexible for now versus forcing it into a unified model. Bensinger said the company expects some MSPs to buy standalone products, while others may want bundled offerings that combine Timus with AutoElevate, Password Manager and DNS Filtering.
“Our priority is flexibility,” he said. “MSPs operate at different stages of maturity, so we expect some partners will start with standalone solutions while others will prefer bundled offerings that combine technologies such as AutoElevate, Password Manager, DNS Filtering and Timus.”
The company also plans to build enablement around the new SASE and ZTNA capabilities.
“As we continue integrating the portfolio, our focus is on making it easier for partners to adopt additional security services without disrupting existing workflows,” Bensinger said. “We will provide the sales, technical and operational enablement needed to help MSPs position, deploy and support SASE and ZTNA solutions with confidence.”

For partners, it needs to be simple enough to deploy, manage and support across clients.
“The objective is to help partners grow recurring revenue opportunities while reducing the complexity typically associated with introducing new security technologies,” Bensinger said.
Why this matters for MSPs
For MSPs, the opportunity goes beyond adding another security product. Customers are seeking alternatives to traditional VPNs and stronger controls over user and application access. SASE and ZTNA can offer recurring revenue opportunities as managed services.
“MSPs don’t need another disconnected security tool,” Bensinger said. “They need solutions that work together and are designed around the way they operate. Our strategy is to bring identity security, privileged access, web protection and secure access technologies closer together so our partners can deliver a comprehensive, streamlined security offering.”
Timus will keep its own brand for now, while CyberFOX incorporates it in its partner program and product roadmap. The larger test will be whether CyberFOX can turn SASE and ZTNA into services MSPs can sell without adding complexity.
“Ultimately, we want MSPs to spend less time managing products and more time delivering outcomes,” Bensinger said. “Turning SASE into a managed service should create new value and recurring revenue, not introduce another layer of operational overhead.”
