The Linux certification organization LPI (Linux Professional Institute) has announced it will offer all LPIC exams, along with the new Linux Essentials exam, at the Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators Conference (HECC) Nov. 16, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza in Union Station in Indianapolis.
During the HECC State Conference, LPI will also offer its popular full day LPIC-1 Exam Cram workshop Thursday, Nov. 14.
“LPI is pleased to be participating in the HECC State Conference, a leading regional event for technology educators and IT resource staff within the school system in Indiana,” says LPI president and CEO Jim Lacey. “During the conference we will be promoting our regular LPIC certification program for IT professionals and introducing our Linux Essentials program to local educators. Given the growing widespread adoption of Linux and Open Source, we are certain our Linux Essentials program will be a valuable academic resource for teachers who want to prepare their students for a career in Open Source software.”
LPI is offering LPIC exams at a promotional rate of $99 per exam (except for LPI-301, which will be $219).
In addition, LPI will be offering its Linux Essentials exam at the promotional price of $65.
LPIC exams take approximately 90 minutes to complete and 60 minutes is allocated for the Linux Essentials exam. To ensure exam availability, please register in advance at events@lpi.org and indicate preferred exam. To participate in the exam lab, channel pros must obtain an LPI ID at LPI’s registration area: www.lpi.org/register.
On the day of the exam, candidates may make payment for their exams by check, cash or credit card. Payment may also be made in advance via PayPal. Exam candidates should bring their LPI ID and a government issued photo identification to the exam lab.
