Hostway Corporation, a cloud hosting provider, is now offering FlexCloud API, an application programming interface (API) that supports Hyper-V deployments. Compatible with OpenStack, FlexCloud API enables organizations to easily manage Hyper-V virtual machines across multiple cloud environments and resellers can build their services on the platform.
The new FlexCloud API uses the same commands and data structure as OpenStack, facilitating portability and eliminating vendor lock-in concerns. The API can be used to automate server provisioning, auto-scale servers up and down, and integrate services on a cloud.
SMBs with a private Hyper-V cloud can integrate Hostway’s FlexCloud Servers into an existing server inventory management system. Users with Hyper-V on their internal Windows Server environments can also connect to Hostway’s public clouds to help meet bursting, failover, and compliance needs. Resellers can use the API to bundle and resell their own offerings, as well as automate the server provisioning process and scale their server inventory up and down.
