M-Files Announces Cloud Vault 2.0

The online document management solution is upgraded to include single sign-in via Active Directory, 100 TB cloud storage, and support for hybrid cloud configurations.

Cloud-based services provider M-Files has announced the latest version of the popular online document management solution, M-Files Cloud Vault.

M-Files Announces Cloud Vault 2.0 According to M-Files, Cloud Vault 2.0 incorporates several major enhancements, including support for hybrid cloud configurations and single sign-in via Active Directory. Additionally, the new version features improved backup and recovery capabilities and 100 TB cloud storage.

According to M-Files, the Cloud Vault product is the “first ECM solution to run natively on Windows Azure.” This enables SMBs to employ Microsoft’s cloud-based platform and geographically distributed data centers.

“With M-Files Cloud Vault 2.0, companies can leverage the cloud for scalable online storage capacity, robust file sharing capabilities, and anytime/anywhere mobile access without giving up any professional ECM capabilities,” says M-Files president Greg Milliken.

With Windows Azure Connect, M-Files Cloud Vault supports single sign-on through Active Directory via an organization’s on-premise domain. The resulting “hybrid” model supports a flexible computing environment that enables SMBs to maintain such on-premise systems as ERP and CRM while utilizing the cloud to improve the way they organize, manage, and track important documents and processes.

“The cloud offers SMBs new options and flexibility related to deploying technology, but on-premise software solutions still continue to offer important benefits,” Milliken adds.

Powered by Azure BLOB (Binary Large Object) Storage, the storage capacity in M-Files Cloud Vault 2.0 can scale up to 100 TB. Cloud Vault 2.0 also leverages the new “point-in-time” recovery (PITR) capabilities provided by Windows Azure, which enables data recovery back to any time in the past.
