Caringo, an object storage provider, and CTERA Networks, a hybrid cloud storage provider, have partnered to integrate Caringo CAStar object storage software with CTERA Cloud Attached Storage gateways and CTERA Portal to provide a new cloud storage solution. The combination brings CAStor’s ability to leverage any x86 server hardware and incrementally scale up or down together with CTERA’s gateways, resulting in a flexible cloud infrastructure that reduces CAPEX and OPEX.
The Caringo object storage platform powered by CAStor is software that enables big storage for unstructured data by utilizing any x86 server hardware or any combination of hard drive type or size. Service providers using Caringo as storage infrastructure for their cloud storage service can scale incrementally up or down a single hard drive at a time and can upgrade and retire hardware without downtime. CTERA Portal enables cloud service providers to offer hybrid on-premise/cloud storage and data protection to their SMB customers with complete control, based on their cloud infrastructure of choice.
