Ixia Inks Distribution Deal with Ingram Micro

Agreement promises increased exposure for Ixia’s network assessment tool.

Partners with world’s largest technology distributor to broaden distribution of industry leading network assessment tool, IxChariot

Ixia, a provider of IP performance test systems based in Calabasas, Calif., has entered into a strategic distribution agreement with technology distributor Ingram Micro Inc., based in Santa Ana, Calif. Under the agreement, Ingram Micro will market and distribute Ixia’s IxChariot network assessment tool to its channel partners in the U.S. and Canada.

As networks and applications become more complex, network performance becomes mission critical. Applications such as VoIP, video on demand, and intelligent enterprise applications introduce potential network bottlenecks that must be isolated and corrected. IxChariot simulates real-world applications to predict device and system performance under realistic load conditions.

IxChariot has been used to stage numerous performance tests on networks such as wireless LANs, converged networks, and next-generation 3G networks.† The product has its own online user forum available at www.testtalk.net and sample test plans available at www.ixchariot.com.

According to Eric Kohl, director, vendor management at Ingram Micro, “System integrators and VARs can use IxChariot for network assessment and planning as a value-added service to their customers, while enterprise customers can perform regular assessment and problem isolation for their networks and applications.”
