Wireless sensor manufacturer Monnit Corp. has release a new line of Wi-Fi sensors called MoWi. The sensors each employ an integrated 2.4 GHz, 802.11b/g, FCC/CE-certified radio transmitter. This enables the sensors to work with new and existing Wi-Fi networks globally.
The MoWi sensors are designed to provide SMBs with the ability to remotely monitor various aspects of business operations via existing Wi-Fi networks. The ability to use Wi-Fi sensors provides cost savings.
“Monnit provides reliable, low-cost commercial wireless sensors, and we are excited to expand our offering to include Wi-Fi sensors,” says Monnit CEO Brad Walters. “These products address the needs of SMBs by providing easy-to-use wireless sensors that can be used within existing Wi-Fi networks.” †
The MoWi sensors for building operations management are immediately available in 12 sensing types: temperature, humidity, door and window (open/close), motion, water, activity, dry contact, and button. MoWi sensors compliment Monnit’s existing line of wireless sensors, which are designed to detect and monitor conditions that are critical to SMBs.
Monnit’s MoWi sensors communicate through existing Wi-Fi networks to iMonnit, the online data monitoring system, which aggregates sensor information and sends notifications via text or email if user defined conditions are met or exceeded.
Monnit also provides MoWi sensors to OEM’s and reseller’s through OEMSensors.com, which enables white labeling (private branding) of both the wireless sensor hardware and the online monitoring software.
Starting at $149, the MoWi sensors are immediately available at www.monnit.com/wi-fi. †
