Kyocera Mita America Launches Eco-Friendly Color Printer

For organizations of all sizes, the FS-C5400DN features 600 dpi color output with a durable maximum monthly duty cycle of 150,000 pages.

Kyocera Mita America, Inc., a document solutions company in Fairfield, N.J., announced the launch of the FS-C5400DN (37ppm) desktop color printer. As part of Kyocera’s ECOSYS line of printers, the FS-C5400DN is Energy Star certified for power efficiency and uses long-life consumables for consistent high-quality image output, according to the company.

The FS-C5400DN features 600 dpi color output with a durable maximum monthly duty cycle of 150,000 pages. In addition, the FS-C5400DN delivers a 300,000-page preventive maintenance (PM) schedule. This PM cycle is meant to create longer intervals of time between required service visits and help minimize maintenance costs for end-users and keep organizational productivity high.

To maximize workgroup productivity and efficiency, the FS-C5400DN features standard networking, 256MB of memory (upgradeable to 1.28GB), high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity, PDF and Microsoft XPS file printing capability, and departmental accounting or tracking capabilities for up to 100 account codes. It can support various network operating systems and comes standard with a USB Host Interface, allowing mobile users to select files (TIF, PDF, and XPS) and print documents from a portable USB memory device directly at the printer.

Kyocera offers optional network and device management tools that include KMnet Viewer, KMnet Admin, KMnet for Accounting, and PrintQ Manager. PrintQ Manager, a server-based software tool, allows companies to monitor, maintain, and analyze print jobs and usage on all Kyocera networked printers. Kyocera also offers the Color Optimizer, a plug-in to improve color matching on business documents.

A standard Command Center Web interface allows users to verify the operating status of the printer and make setting changes related to security and network printing. For businesses with heightened security or compliance requirements, the FS-C5400DN comes standard with IPsec and IPcv6 support.

The FS-C5400DN can print a range of materials made of a variety of paper stock, and comes standard with a 500-sheet input tray and a standard 150-sheet multipurpose tray (MPT). In addition to paper saving standard duplexing, the printer offers an optional 500-sheet paper feeder that can support media up to 120 lb. index. Maximum paper capacity (with options) is 2,150 sheets from five different paper sources to minimize refilling and changing paper types. †

The FS-C5400DN is available now through authorized Kyocera dealers at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $2,593.
