The new functionality, which is available immediately, enables users of Datto RMM to remotely install GravityZone agents on multiple endpoints automatically. Built-in OS autodetection capabilities in that feature let MSPs employ a single process to deploy Bitdefender protection on Windows, Mac, and Linux devices with minimal configuration.
Technicians can also view installation progress in real time within the Datto RMM interface, and track update status after the software is in place.
“Our MSP partners told us they need a reliable, proven security solution that matches their business model and integrates with their daily routines and workflows,” said Alina Draganescu, Bitdefender’s senior director of security for MSPs and SMBs, in prepared remarks. “So we built the integration with Datto RMM which uses a unified, agnostic installation kit that works across multiple operating systems. Saving time through automatic deployment and relying on the software to do the work for you is important when you have diverse infrastructures with systems running on Windows, Linux or Mac.”
GravityZone MSP provides multi-layered endpoint security encompassing anti-malware, content control, email security, and patch management, along with more advanced technologies like tunable machine learning, sandboxing, and endpoint detection and response (EDR). Bitdefender added security risk analytics to the product in July as well.
“With this integration, our MSP partners using Datto RMM are now able to quickly deploy the Bitdefender Cloud Security agent and view the security status of an endpoint from within their Datto RMM interface, eliminating the need to transition from platform to platform,” said Aaron Dun, vice president of product and growth marketing at Datto, in a media statement. “We’re dedicated to ensuring our MSP partners have seamless integrations with the products they use every day to create efficiencies, and we welcome Bitdefender to our Datto Developer Program.”
Bitdefender is in the midst of a concerted push to attract MSP partners that includes the introduction this June of a new MSP partner program. Integrating its products with leading managed services line-of-business solutions from companies like Kaseya, Ninja RMM, and SolarWinds MSP, among others, has figured prominently in that campaign. In April, for example, the company linked its Patch Management, Advanced Threat Security, and EDR products with the ConnectWise Automate RMM solution.
Datto, for its part, has made integration with third-party vendors via open interfaces a priority this year as well. In March, for example, the company launched a program designed to help software makers link their products with Datto’s RMM, PSA, and BDR, networking solutions, and then promote those integrations to partners. That offering helped land Datto a spot on ChannelPro’s list of 2019 All-Star award winners.
