Keep Customers Secure and Connected with Eaton 5PX G2 UPS

This sponsored Partner Program Profile explains how, with more power, remote management, premium security, and a smaller footprint, the new 5PX G2 adds value to channel partners’ portfolios.

Three strong pillars form the foundation of Eaton’s newest UPS: effortless management, premium security, and power for growth. Combined with Eaton’s intelligent software, pre-sales support, and online resources, the new 5PX G2 gives channel partners a significant value-add to their portfolios.

Effortless Management: The 5PX G2 supports remote configuration and management with Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) software, ensuring your customers’ system uptime and data integrity during a power or environmental event. An easy startup configuration wizard simplifies deployment. Once installed, you can troubleshoot UPS status and alarms remotely when used with the Gigabit Network Card (NETWORK-M2). In addition, the new UPS supports remote firmware updates without dropping the load.

Premium Security: The 5PX G2 better protects your customers from cyberattacks that target power. The Gigabit Network Card, preinstalled with the 1 kVA RTN model, is the first UPS connectivity device to meet both UL and IEC cybersecurity standards.

More Power: The 5PX G2 rackmount and tower UPS provide the maximum power possible at each power rating, ranging from 1 to 3 kVA, with low- and highvoltage options. Standard runtime is increased by at least 25% on 1.5 and 2 kVA models compared to the legacy 5PX UPS, and four optional external battery modules are available for extra runtime.

Rolled out in January and available now, the latest addition to Eaton’s 5 series UPS line is ideal for distributed IT environments: It’s smaller and quieter than its predecessor, installs faster, and offers features designed to reduce or eliminate truck rolls for partners.

quoteOther features designed to keep your customers secure and connected include enhanced surge protection, improved efficiency to meet the latest Energy Star 2.0 and Department of Energy (DOE) guidelines, and a next-gen LED status bar that provides quick and clear visual diagnostics to proactively address critical issues before they happen. In addition, Eaton’s Advanced Battery Management (ABM), a proprietary method of automatically charging, resting, and testing batteries, extends battery life by up to 50%.

A Great Fit for Partner Portfolios

For managed IT service providers, Eaton’s 5PX G2 UPS fits easily into the remote management model and boosts monthly recurring revenue.

ADVANTAGES OF THE 5PX G2 VS. THE LEGACY 5PX

  • More power in less space
  • Preinstalled network cards on “RTN” models
  • Energy Star 2.0 and DOE compliant
  • Up to 25% more runtime on 1.5 and 2 kVA models
  • New 2 kVA, 3U short-depth model (19″ deep), plus shorter depth for all models
  • Quieter

“Partners can sell the remote management features as part of the managed service they’re already providing,” says Rusty Scioscia, senior product manager at Eaton, “along with all the other remote management capabilities that come with Eaton IPM software. I think that’s the really compelling piece for channel partners.”

In addition, partners can save time on installation. Preinstalled network cards allow products to be shipped from distribution or a partner directly to a customer facility for startup without requiring static IP setup before installation./p>

Managed IT service providers who join the Eaton PowerAdvantage partner program also get deal registration and the ability to earn discounts and rewards, plus they have access to the Eaton team.

“We want to make partners successful,” Scioscia stresses, “so they will be able to lean on us to give them the knowledge they need.”
