5 ways MSPs can strengthen cybersecurity and capitalize on AI

These five vendors want to help MSPs put AI to work more securely and efficiently.

AI is creating new opportunities for MSPs, but it’s also introducing new security risks. As businesses adopt new tools and agents, service providers must protect more than traditional networks, devices and email accounts.

MSPs are looking for ways to use AI to improve productivity, reduce manual work and develop new services. Doing so requires the right security controls, reliable information and tools that fit into existing workflows.

ChannelPro spoke with several vendors at recent events about how they’re helping MSPs address these challenges. Here, we highlight five of those companies. They offer different approaches to strengthening cybersecurity and putting AI to work.

Cambrient AI

Collin Togher and Armaan Chakrabarti

Cambrient AI: Protecting users and AI agents from sophisticated email threats

  • What it does: Cambrient AI provides AI-native email security that aims to defend both employees and AI agents. Its technology examines suspicious messages and follows links to identify phishing threats that may be hidden several clicks beyond an email.
  • How it helps MSPs: The platform addresses emerging risks from AI agents that can access email, documents and business applications. It also provides plain-English explanations when suspicious messages are flagged. These appear directly in the user’s inbox, potentially reducing support tickets and helping customers understand security decisions.
  • What’s new and exciting: Cambrient is focusing on threats that exploit trusted applications and AI-powered workflows. Its technology is designed to identify malicious activity that conventional email filters may overlook, including attempts to manipulate AI agents through information embedded in emails or documents.

“Most MSPs sell an email security solution right now. However, most of them are really old. Almost all of them have either been acquired by larger companies or bought out by private equity firms. While we do have a lot of competition, we are the only ones that were actually built for this modern era. We use AI agents to go click on things and maybe find phish that are bad links that are hidden two or three clicks down within the email.” — Armaan Chakrabarti, CEO and co-founder

HENNGE: Strengthening identity security and access controls

  • What it does: HENNGE provides identity and access management technology designed to help SMBs protect user accounts and control access to business applications. Its HENNGE Identity platform offers advanced identity protection, including conditional access, through MSP partners.
  • How it helps MSPs: The channel-exclusive company gives MSPs an option for delivering identity security beyond passwords and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Its MSP-exclusive model includes no minimum commitments or onboarding charges, according to the company. Partners also can stop billing when they lose a customer.
  • What’s new and exciting: HENNGE entered the U.S. market in 2025, backed by an established Japanese cybersecurity provider. It has been adapting its platform to U.S. MSP requirements. That includes adding multitenant capabilities based on partner feedback and establishing an MSP advisory board to help guide development.

“The Japanese are ambitious. However, they’re unlike U.S. investors. They do not want quick growth; they want predictable, consistent results. We came in not expecting to take the market by storm or disrupt anything, but to establish a beachhead in the U.S. market. We prioritized quality over quantity. We’re really looking to build long-term relationships.” — Robert Sharp, president and CEO

Hatz AI: Helping MSPs deliver and monetize secure AI services

  • What it does: Hatz AI provides a managed AI platform that MSPs can offer to their customers. The platform is designed to help businesses adopt AI while giving their service providers greater visibility into how the technology is being used.
  • How it helps MSPs: Hatz enables partners to create recurring revenue from managed AI services. It also gives them a way to address shadow AI, in which employees use AI tools without company oversight. MSPs can use those findings to start conversations about security, governance and business applications for AI.
  • What’s new and exciting: The company recently launched Hatz Activate, a feature that connects to an MSP’s professional services automation (PSA) system. It pulls customer information, generates shadow AI risk assessments and drafts proposals with industry-specific use cases. The company said MSPs can complete the process in less than a minute.

“The whole purpose of Hatz is to give MSPs the option to generate another stream of revenue by offering an AI platform to their customers that is secure and fully managed. Right now, either their customers are paying for AI and that money is going around the MSP or they’re not and their data is at risk. At this point, it’s not a matter of if they’re using AI; it’s that they are. The questions are who’s paying for it, who’s getting the money and where is the data going?” — Kelcye Blankenship-Lackland, director of channel enablement

Phin Security at ChannelPro LIVE: Dallas

Phin Security helps MSPs manage security awareness training.

Phin Security: Automating security awareness training and customer onboarding

  • What it does: Phin Security provides security awareness training, phishing analysis and dark web monitoring through an MSP-only channel model. Its platform is designed to support providers managing security education for multiple customers.
  • How it helps MSPs: Phin reduces the administrative work involved in onboarding users and managing training campaigns. Its shared campaign functionality allows MSPs to create a single campaign for multiple clients instead of configuring separate programs for each organization. This can help providers scale security awareness services without adding repetitive work.
  • What’s new and exciting: Phin is emphasizing automation and simplified campaign management as MSPs take on more customers. The company also is focusing on emerging security awareness challenges, including AI-generated deepfakes and phishing threats that can affect different groups of technology users.

“From just a general cybersecurity perspective, you realize how little people really know. A huge financial impact can be created by something as simple as a phishing email. It can literally ruin people’s lives and their livelihood, which is really scary. And it shouldn’t just be people working in cybersecurity who know about it.” — Kelsey Purcell, head of marketing

Lexful: Making MSP documentation reliable and accessible for AI-powered workflows

Pinar Ormeci of Lexful

Pinar Ormeci

  • What it does: Lexful provides an AI-native documentation and knowledge management platform for MSPs. It organizes existing operational information — including procedures, customer documentation and technical records — into a structured knowledge system that technicians and AI agents can query.
  • How it helps MSPs: The platform helps technicians find reliable information without searching through disconnected documents. It also supports AI-driven workflows by providing structured context and tracing source material. MSPs can use it to audit documentation, identify outdated records and prepare for customer reviews or compliance projects.
  • What’s new and exciting: Lexful announced general availability in August, expanding its integrations with PSA and remote monitoring and management (RMM) platforms. Its capabilities include migrating existing documentation, identifying missing or outdated information and helping MSPs develop plans to address documentation gaps.

“There are a lot of startups out there that work on agents, agentic automation or system of action, if you will. But can you trust that information being used by that AI and the agents? The system of record or that knowledge layer should allow the agents and even the humans to get to the right information instantly with minimized hallucinations, guardrails in place and sources explicitly mentioned. We started with that system of record from day one.” — Pinar Ormeci, CEO
