Tripp Lite Launches Two New SmartRack Cooling Models

Self-contained, compact AC units expel condensate through exhaust air, with no water tank to empty.

Tripp Lite, maker of power protection equipment, has two new cooling solutions for the SMB IT channel.

The company’s new Tripp Lite SmartRack Compact Air Conditioning Units SmartRack Compact Air Conditioner units provide supplemental cooling for electronic equipment in locations where facility air conditioning can’t reach or doesn’t provide adequate cooling to overcome environmental conditions.†††

Self-contained, compact AC units expel condensate through exhaust air, with up to 12,000 BTUs (models available for 120V or 230V applications).

“Most network and server closets weren’t originally designed for the IT department,” says Tripp Lite product manager Craig Watkins. “If you have network equipment jammed into a converted janitor’s closet, there’s a good chance it doesn’t have the kind of cooling you need.”

According to Watkins, the SmartRack Compact Air Conditioning Unit will fix that. “And it doesn’t require any maintenance or complicated installation,” he adds. “Anyone can set it up, turn it on, and forget about it.”

Key features and benefits of models include:

  • Self-contained design, with no external condenser, refrigerant piping, or plumbing required
  • Up to 12,000 BTUs–models available for 120V or 230V applications
  • 120V model plugs into a standard 5-15R outlet
  • Expels condensate through exhaust air, with no water tank to empty
  • Directional output duct delivers cold air exactly where required
  • Fits in confined spaces
  • Eco-friendly refrigerant meets environmental standards
  • Simple installation and maintenance-free operation
  • Installation kit included for window or dropped ceiling exhaust
