Corsair Adds to Its Force Series SSDs

The new F90 and F180 Force Series SSD models offer densities of 90 GB and 180 GB respectively.

Components manufacturer Corsair added two new models to its Force Series SSD family. The newest additions are the F90 and F180 Force Series SSDs, with densities of 90 GB and 180 GB respectively.

Corsair Adds to Its Force Series SSDsThese latest additions to the Corsair Force Series are built using the Sandforce SF-1200 SSD processor, which offers such performance capabilities as read speeds of up to 285 MB/sec and write speeds of up to 275 MB/sec, with a 4K random write throughput of up to 50,000 IOPs.

“Corsair’s Force Series of SSDs have become extremely popular with enthusiasts and gamers,” says Thi La, Corsair’s vice president to memory products, “and with these two new capacities we can offer our customers greater flexibility to choose the capacity that best suits their budget.”

La adds, “The 90 GB and 180 GB capacities neatly fill the gaps in the current family, which now ranges from 40 GB all the way to 240 GB.”

The F90 and F180 Force Series SSDs all implement the ATA TRIM command, supported by Windows 7, which helps to maintain optimal performance over the drive’s lifetime.

The F90 and F160 Force Series SSDs are available immediately from Corsair’s network of authorized distributors and resellers. The MSRP of the F90 and F180 is $189.99 and $399.99, respectively.
