Object storage software developer Caringo has introduced a new generation solutions for Dell servers.
The full suite of Caringo object storage software will now be available online through Dell, backed by Caringo’s pre-sales, sales, and services expertise. Standard configurations and full customization will be possible with Dell’s line of x86 server and networking products.
“Dell customers will benefit from the increased flexibility, and additional functionality offered through the expanded software suite,” states Caringo in a press release submitted to ChannelPro-SMB. “The software appliance model will replace the single hardware DX6000 platform previously offered by Dell.”
Caringo enables new hardware and software to be added at any time with no forklift upgrades or data migration required, with full access to options unavailable on the DX6000.
“This change to a software appliance delivery method reflects market requirements as users increasingly request a broader selection of hardware to meet the needs that span a range from cloud storage to active archive applications,” says Caringo CEO Mark Goros.
Caringo will make its entire software suite available. This includes:
- CAStorÆ 6.0 with Elastic Content Protection (ECP)
- Content Router
- Cluster Services Node
- CloudScaler
- Indexer
- Content File Server
