The event, powered by IT By Design, kicked off with an energetic AI-focused video spotlighting more than 50 vendor sponsors. From the start, the tone was set — this isn’t just a tech event. It’s a summit for MSPs ready to lead, scale, and grow with intention.
IT By Design President Kam Kaila opened the conference with a Mission: Impossible-themed keynote packed with urgency and inspiration. Her message: AI will not lead your company — and it shouldn’t. However, the technology is a powerful tool in the hands of a capable leader. To help MSPs rise to that challenge, Kaila introduced the “Three Ts” of MSP leadership: training, tools, and templates.

Throughout the event, IT By Design is emphasizing operational leadership. MSPs will have the opportunity to sharpen their business skills, strengthen team culture, and build companies that last.

A Rooftop Kickoff With Heart
Build IT Live unofficially began on Aug. 3 with a 50th birthday celebration for IT By Design CEO and Founder Sunny Kaila at the Top of the Freedom Tower. More than 400 MSPs, vendors, and industry leaders came together to reconnect, raise a glass, and toast Kaila’s success.
It was a night of high energy, sweeping city views, and conversations that carried well past the final round of dessert.

Based in New Jersey with a global team, IT By Design has grown bigger than a talent provider. The company has positioned itself as a leadership engine for the MSP channel.
