Overall growth rate is 207% from a starting point of 22 billion devices now. 5G growth will really accelerate IIoT use in factories, along with Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) networks, and push the “”smart factory”” concept to new heights. Despite the billions of hardware devices, over 80% of global IIoT market value will come from software by 2025, reaching $216 billion. Manufacturers are advised to focus on data collection in the most valuable areas to drive efficiency gains.
