Businesses Lose When Text Messages Are Unanswered — Now RingByName Gives Them Wins

Every RingByName company phone number is now SMS-enabled and users can text chat with anyone through the RingByName web interface and mobile apps

RingByName, a Miami company offering cloud communications services in 70 countries, has added text messaging or short message service (SMS) capability to all company phone numbers. Now RingByName business customers can receive and reply to text messages their customers and prospects are sending them and use text messaging as an outbound communication channel.

“Most businesses don’t realize it but many are receiving text messages everyday. A surprisingly large number of our business customers receive text messages on their business phone numbers. Most are likely auto-responses like ‘Sorry, I can’t talk now’, but others could contain important questions or complaints. Not responding is probably costing these businesses in missed connections and opportunities. By adding SMS support we are allowing our customers to make those connections and win those opportunities,” said Silvano Girardi, Chief Technology Officer of RingByName. “RingByName is designed to be a competitive weapon that helps businesses win and keep more customers with better communication and collaboration and now we’ve added the SMS channel to that.”

Starting today RingByName business customers will be able to receive and send SMS messages through their company numbers. These are one-to-one conversations between the company and anyone else. The text chat conversations are conducted through the RingByName online interface or mobile apps. A conversation can be assigned or reassigned from person to person within a company as necessary. There will be no additional charge for usage of the SMS feature consistent with the terms of use. Current customers will get their company numbers SMS-enabled for no charge and additional company numbers can be purchased.

So the next time a prospect texts back to a sales call, “Can’t talk now. Call you call me back at 3pm?”, your salesperson can reply back with, “Sure thing. I’ll call you then.” That’s a made connection — not a missed one.

The next time an existing customer texts asking, “I’m about 30 minutes away. What time do you close?”, you can reply back immediately with your hours and even confirm the address so they can get directions on their mobile device. It’s the responsive, helpful, multi-channel experience that customers are demanding. And now RingByName business customers can deliver it.
