Kaseya Updates its RMM Platform

Named Kaseya VSA 9.3, the new system features extensive automation, technician productivity, and scalability enhancements.

Managed services software vendor Kaseya Ltd. has released a new version of its Kaseya VSA systems management and remote monitoring solution.

Launched in conjunction with the Kaseya Connect user conference currently underway in Carlsbad, Calif., Kaseya VSA 9.3 includes an extensive list of new and enhanced features, many of which seek to improve technician productivity and provide real-time device information.

Among them is†a new Live Connect module that displays up-to-the-second information about CPU and disk utilization, application processes, and service tickets, among other topics. Technicians who spot a problem can take remote control of the relevant device directly from within Live Connect.

“With these enhancements, which have been developed based on customer feedback, Live Connect has leapfrogged competition to deliver the best technician experience on the market today,” said Kaseya chief product officer Mike Puglia in a press statement. “Competitive offerings don’t have the modern, clean intuitive interface of Live Connect. But, more importantly, they also don’t have the connect speed, the advanced real-time monitoring interface, the remote control capabilities and the inherent reliability of Live Connect for VSA 9.3.”

Also new in Kaseya VSA 9.3 is multi-tasking functionality that lets technicians maintain and toggle between multiple remote sessions simultaneously, and a library of automated procedures for performing common tasks like re-booting desktops, restarting services, and resolving registry issues.

Automation also figures in the updated Kaseya solution’s new security best practice templates, which automatically apply proven techniques for protecting end points based on Kaseya’s observations and experiences in the field. Users can also create custom automated security policies utilizing integrated capabilities from software makers Kaspersky Lab, of Woburn, Mass., and Malwarebytes Corp., of Santa Clara, Calif., including their latest behavior-based analysis and network attack detection features.

Elsewhere on the security front, the new Kaseya VSA release lets managers apply different scanning and remediation policies to groups of devices based on their role and the customer’s regulatory requirements.

According to Kaseya, the new edition of VSA is also more scalable than its predecessors, offering up to 30 percent faster performance due to architectural upgrades to the system’s server and database components. New peer-to-peer software deployment technology further improves scalability by reducing reliance on WAN and cloud connections when rolling out applications and updates.

Today’s announcement comes amid a wave of similarly significant product revisions from other RMM and PSA vendors, including Autotask, AVG, and SolarWinds N-able. It also comes some three months after Kaseya introduced its first PSA solution.
