Acer has unveiled the Acer Aspire Switch 12 with five modes of usage in one notebook, featuring a 12.5-inch full HD display and an Intel Core M processor with up to 8 hours of battery life.
Equipped with a kickstand design that features a magnetic and latch-less detachable keyboard, the centerpiece of the Aspire Switch 12 is its ability to transition between five modes (notebook, pad, display, tent, and desktop).
The Aspire Switch 12’s detachable keyboard can work connected or wirelessly and provides full-sized typing along with a pointing stick, or utilize its 10-point touch controls on a larger screen and use an optional Acer Active Pen1 for a more intuitive writing and drawing experience.
The notebook includes two antennas. 2×2 wireless antenna technology processes data at up to twice the speed of traditional single antenna solutions by forming a multi-input/multi-output (MIMO) setup for fast and reliable throughput. It also comes with micro USB 3.0 and micro HDMI ports.
The Acer Aspire Switch 12 will be available in the United States and Canada in early 2015. Models will be configured with either a 60GB or 120GB SSD. Pricing for models in both countries will be announced when shipping.
