iControl Networks is Using Netgear’s Android Touchscreen

The Netgear Security Touch Screen (STS7000) is available now.

Netgear is making a push for home control, with a little help from iControl Networks. The two companies just launched the STS7000, a new Android touchscreen.

Also known as the Netgear Security Touchscreen, the 7-inch screen allows users to manage and interact with iControl Connect smart home automation options, as well as check up on news, weather, traffic, sports and more.

Netgear has outfitted the touchscreen with 802.11n, 2×2 WiFi and simultaneous dual-band capabilities, promising a super-fast performance. Other features include support for over-the-air software upgrades, a removable and replaceable battery, and the Android operating system.

As far as the connected home is concerned, iControl says that the STS7000 can tap into energy monitoring and thermostat control, lighting, and music streaming via Apple AirPlay.

“Consumers have rapidly adopted large-screen Android and iOS tablets as the primary interface for countless applications,” said Paul Dawes, senior vice president and general manager at iControl. “Our partnership with Netgear allows us to offer smart home customers a high-end touchscreen experience at a low price point, providing a breakthrough product for connected home security.”

The Netgear STS700 is available now, specifically through service providers. Contact iControl Networks for more information on availability and pricing.
