A lot of companies incorporate smart tablet apps into home automation systems. However, there’s nothing quite like a dedicated controller. Now, HomeSeer is combining the two in one product—and making it something for Android users.
The company just announced the WFTT07, a new Android tabletop touchscreen designed specifically for home automation.
The WFTT07 looks like a tablet and even performs like a tablet. However, it boots up to the HSTouch smart home app, so you’re ready to access your home’s features at a moment’s notice.
The freestanding 7-inch touchscreen is easy to set up. Just plug it in, configure the Wi-Fi and HSTouch server settings, and you’re ready to rock. If you don’t need to tweak the lights, temperature, or channel selection, the WFTT07 functions like a regular Android tablet. That basically means that you can download all sorts of apps to the device and use it to play audio and video, check Facebook, surf the Web, and more.
Other features include the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for portable use, built-in Wi-Fi support, built-in stereo speakers, and an SD card slot. Also, like all of HomeSeer’s products, the WFTT07 works with thousands of Z-Wave products from companies such as Cooper, Schlage, Kwikset, Baldwin, Yale, GE, Honeywell, Leviton, Linear, Everspring, Evolve, Fibaro, FortrezZ, Aeon Labs, RCS, and many more.
HomeSeer is selling the WFTT07 now, with an MSRP of $169.95.
