Disk-based data protection developer FalconStor Software Inc. †has announced an agreement with Avnet Embedded for integration and order fulfillment of FalconStor solutions.
Specifically, Avnet Embedded will support FalconStor’s new partnership with IBM to bundle FalconStor Virtual Tape Library (VTL) with deduplication on IBM servers and storage. In addition, Avnet Embedded will take over the integration and testing of FalconStor’s product suite—FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS), FalconStor Continuous Data Protector (CDP), and FalconStor VTL—on Dell appliances.
IT distributor Avnet will fulfill orders for FalconStor solutions from its integration centers. Avnet Embedded’s integration relationships, with such technology suppliers as Dell and IBM, will enable FalconStor to deliver complete solutions and broaden its reach in delivering appliance platforms.
“Avnet has the systems integration and distribution services that will help us ramp up production to meet the increasing demand for comprehensive data protection solutions,” says FalconStor COO Gary Quinn.
For Avnet Embedded, the partnership diversifies options for SMBs selecting data protection and storage virtualization appliances. “Business continuity and disaster recovery solutions are a priority for companies,” says Chuck Kostalnick, Avnet Embedded’s senior vice president, “and our integration centers enable us to scale immediately to meet the needs of FalconStor channel partners and customers.”
