Power management solutions provider Eaton Corp. has become a member of the NetApp Alliance Partner Program. The company made the announcement as it rolled out a new version of its Intelligent Power Manager software.
The NetApp Alliance Partner Program provides infrastructure and application providers with access to NetApp solutions, software development kits, technical support, training, certification, product information, and marketing and sales assistance. Members benefit by having access to partner solutions that are tested to work with NetApp storage.
For Eaton, being an Alliance partner means being able to assure customers that its power management solutions are designed to operate in harmony with NetApp products.
“Pre-validated software empowers businesses by accelerating the speed of deployment, streamlining support and simplifying management,” adds Hervé Tardy, Eaton’s vice president and general manager of distributed power quality.
Intelligent Power Manager Updates
Eaton’s most recent update to its Intelligent Power Manager software provides the ability to monitor and manage NetApp unified storage as well as to facilitate a graceful shutdown to protect data integrity when power is compromised.
The software also integrates seamlessly with the major virtualization platforms and applications, including VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Red Hat, and other Xen open source platforms.
Additional benefits for customers with Intelligent Power Manager software include the planned movement of data to a backup disaster recovery site and sophisticated load shedding capabilities that increase the uptime of critical business workloads in the event of a power disruption.
