From the floor of its Transform 2013 event in San Diego last week, developer Kofax plc announced its latest version of the forms processing data extractor Kofax Transformation Modules (KTM).
The latest iteration, KTM 6.0, offers SMBs a comprehensive software solution for touchless processing that automatically classifies, separates, and extracts content from any document type, including such structured, semi-structured, and unstructured documents as contracts, leases, correspondence, and medical records.
The new capabilities are designed to enable users to “rubberband” the content to be extracted in a limited set of sample documents and then use self-learning techniques to automatically locate and extract the desired information over time.
“Organizations deploying KTM 6.0 can now automate the extraction of content that was previously only accessible through costly manual document review and data entry,” states a Kofax plc press release submitted to ChannelPro-SMB.
“Traditional content extraction solutions are designed to automate the processing of a narrow set of documents, forcing organizations to deploy multiple point solutions or accept substandard performance when processing other document types,” says Kofax CMO Martyn Christian. †
