Windows migration software developer Laplink Software Inc. has announced that the latest version of its PCmover software will be provide to new PC buyers by such companies HP, Dell, Lenovo, Sony, NEC, Panasonic, Intel, AMD, and QVC.
According to Laplink’s research on PC buyers, one in every five is concerned with the difficulty of setting up a new PC. The developer says this concern has little to do with the hardware or even a new operating system, but rather “the anxiety of how to transfer everything – including programs – from the old PC to the new one.”
PCmover is designed to simplify this process, even with the forthcoming Windows 8.
“The process of moving to a new PC can be a major hassle,” says Laplink CEO Thomas Koll. “We’re proud to be the market leader and to have so many OEMs and retailers bundle or offer PCmover as an upsell to their customers during the PC buying process.” He adds, “Helping customers easily move to their new PCs can increase sales and customer satisfaction for PC manufacturers and retailers.”
