Channel pros that train via virtual events using the iPad just got some good news. Conferencing and collaboration services provider InterCall (a subsidiary of West Corp.), has released an iPad upgrade to its mobile application portfolio, Virtual Events.
Virtual Events for Apple iPad is available through the Apple App Store. It is designed to provide attendees with multi-content views that have become the standard in webcasts, enabling viewers to see video, slides, and interactive features on a single screen. Key to this capability is the way the new InterCall mobile app streams content and supports interactive features in webcasts and virtual environments. It also supports the native navigation features of the iPad, such as scrolling and pinch zooming.
“Virtual Events for iPad offers all the functionality of our desktop webcasting and virtual environment products, and even retains the branding and customization,” says InterCall vice president of event services Mike Nessler. “So, mobile users achieve the same experience they would expect on a wired connection in the office. InterCall is the only provider that offers this level of sophistication and utility in a mobile app.”
With InterCall Virtual Events for iPad, webcasting users receive:
- Secure login.
- Automatic bandwidth detection and adjustment.
- The ability to participate in polls and view results in real time.
- Full access to live text Q&A sessions.
- The ability to chat with event administrators or other users.
- The same high-quality user experience they receive on a desktop for live and on-demand webcasts.
With InterCall Virtual Events for iPad, virtual environment users can:
- Navigate fully and easily through the environment.
- View live and on-demand webcasts.
- Interact with other visitors in the Networking Lounge.
- Chat with booth reps.
- Participate in discussion forums.
- Access all on-demand content.
Virtual Events for iPad works on all versions of the iPad running iOS 4.3 and above. It is compatible with WiFi, 3G, and 4G connections.
