Napatech, a networking adapter provider, is now offering the NT4E2-4T-BP, a 4×1 GB/s in-line network adapter with bypass functionality for high performance intrusion prevention system (IPS) applications. Designed for use in standard servers off the shelf, the NT4E2-4T-BP also provides intelligent flow identification and distribution to up to 32 server CPU cores, improving throughput performance on a per CPU core basis.
The NT4E2-4T-BP offers 4 electrical RJ45 Ethernet ports, supporting speeds from 10 MB/s to 1 GB/s. Non-latched bypass functionality is provided for port pairs, ensuring connectivity in the event of a power failure, system breakdown, or software failure. The bypass functionality can be configured as fail-open or fail-closed, and can be initiated on command using watchdog timer functionality via the software API. Features include:
