Nasuni’s Introduces Its Data Protection Service to the IT Channel

The company’s new Service Level Agreement for the offering promises “guaranteed, 100 percent uptime.”

Cloud-based storage services solutions provider Nasuni unveiled this week Data Protection, a service aimed at SMBs in need of regular data access, data loss risk mitigation, and data recovery.

Nasuni's Introduces Its 'Data Protection' Service to the IT ChannelNasuni says it designed its storage services based on the demands of IT organizations and channel partners that “support mid-sized organizations, giving them a simplified service model that offers on-premise storage, backup, and offsite data protection as a single service offering.”

Moreover, the new service is backed what the company is calling “the most stringent service level agreement (SLA) ever offered in the storage industry” — the company is offering “guaranteed, 100 percent uptime.”

“When it comes to storage as a service, customers demand 100 percent uptime and ironclad security,” explains Nasuni CEO Andres Rodriguez. “That is exactly what we give them and the SLA formalizes our commitment.”

A free two-week version of the Nasuni software used as part of the Data Protection offering is available for download via the Nasuni Web site.

According to Nasuni, a “demanding partner selection process” for raw cloud storage and its intelligent caching, along with file system snapshots and proactive issue resolution enable Nasuni to guarantee customers will always have access to their data.

Moreover, Nasuni’s encryption of data prior to its being forwarded to the cloud — †AES-256 encryption — is the strongest standard available.

“The new Data Protection Service continues our trajectory to simplify storage,” says Rodriguez. “This marketplace is quickly maturing and our SLA is meant to fuel mainstream adoption of an approach to storage that stands to radically streamline IT operations.”

In addition to the Data Protection Service, Nasuni also made a point this week of sharing the details of its so-called “Customer Bill of Rights for Storage Services.” The policy outlines the would-be goals for storage services.

For example, the “Bill of Rights” policy states, “setting up storage services should be fast and simple” and “data storage capacity should be available for incremental purchase, as needed.”
