Commtouch has introduced a unified Internet security solution, bringing together messaging security, Web security, and antivirus.
The unified engine can be integrated with other security and networking products, regardless of vendor, and into a service provider’s infrastructure. The unified engine would benefit any service provider who offers multiple security technologies, such as unified threat management (UTM), secure content filtering gateways, or SaaS security products.
The three security technologies share data about Internet threats and combine forces. For example, if the Web security feature detects a phishing website, the malicious URL is shared with Commtouch Anti-Spam so that emails containing the phishing link can be blocked.
This data-sharing is enabled by Commtouch’s cloud-based GlobalView Network, which collects and analyzes Internet transactions in real-time.
Using an integrated detection engine reduces resource utilization compared to the larger footprint required by separate components. It also reduces integration time of all three services with a unified interface.
