D&H and gloStream Enter Strategic Partnership

VAR partners with healthcare SMB clients will now have resale and education opportunities related to some of the vertical’s most popular management software.

D&H Distributing entered into a strategic partnership this month that will please those of its partners servicing healthcare offices and service centers.

The distributor will now provide its partners with some of the most popular healthcare office management software in the market.

gloStream is a healthcare software development company. Its most popular products include gloEMR, gloPM, and gloSuite, all electronic medical record and practice management software products that feature Microsoft Office built right in.

D&H Distributing has entered into a strategic partnership with gloStream. They will “help teach D&H resellers how to build thriving Healthcare IT Practices so they have the capability to service and support the local doctors in their communities,” states a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB.

Fueled by $20 billion in economic stimulus funding for Medicare and Medicaid providers who implement certified EMR technology, doctors nationwide are showing an increased interest in EMR systems. gloStream’s EMR application is are familiar to small offices because of the way Microsoft Office is built in.

The total number of physician practices in the U.S. tops 230,000, and 95 percent of these practices are categorized as SMBs. In addition, less than 20 percent are using a fully functional EMR.

“Since the vast majority of doctors work out of small and medium-sized practices and most are not using an EMR,” says Jeff Davis, senior vice president of sales at D&H, “there’s tremendous opportunity for D&H VARs since they know and understand the SMB space.”

“We’re excited to begin working with D&H since it gives us the opportunity to introduce gloStream’s personalized EMR solutions to a wider audience of IT specialists,” says gloStream executive vice president Brenda Hodge.

gloStream and D&H have a series of educational events upcoming for resellers looking to enter the healthcare market. D&H’s first virtual event of the year, scheduled for February 17, will focus on healthcare opportunities and gloStream will participate.

In addition, gloStream will present at a seminar entitled “Understanding and Maximizing the Opportunity in Healthcare IT” at D&H’s West Coast Technology tradeshow in Industry Hills, Calif. on March 10, 2011.
